We are looking for a new Business Operations Specialist to be responsible for receptionist duties, purchasing, receiving/shipping, inventory control, and fixed assets management.
Responsibilities:
- Receptionist duties
- Materials/ supplies purchasing
- Materials/Supplies receiving and inventory control
- Packaging and shipping of materials on DHL and FedEx software programs
- Creating Packing Lists and Invoices for international and domestic shipments
- Fixed Assets tracking and maintenance
- Purchasing/Inventory Control/Receiving/Shipping/Fixed Assets Control Sheets Maintenance
- Special projects / other duties when required
Qualifications:
- Associate degree (preferred Business, Finance, or Supply Chain management)
- Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and quickly adjust prioritization as needed
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in using Office 365, especially Microsoft Excel
- Initiative and ability to work both independently and with a team
Nice to Have:
- Experience in order management, international shipping, inventory control, and domestic and international import/export regulations
- Experience with administrative receptionist work

Candidate with expertise in Silicon Photonics design, foundry interface, packaging, and testing is solicited to join a dynamic team in a startup environment. She/he is expected to participate in the development of photonic integrated circuits (PIC's) for data center and 5G optical network applications.
The candidate’s scope of responsibilities include:
- Passive or active photonic device design, simulation, and layout using state-of-the-art modelling and layout tools;
- Device and PIC test/characterization and data analysis;
- Interaction with the silicon photonics foundry.
- Packaging design
- Component and PIC reliability
Qualifications and Skills
- Master's degree with 3+ years of industrial experience or Ph.D. with 1+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Photonics or a related field with emphasis on integrated optics;
- 3+ years of direct experience in silicon photonics component design and/or testing;
- Direct experience in design flow and layout scripting;
- Experience with at least one silicon photonic foundry and its PDK, including process optimization and layout;
- Experience with passive components, such as edge coupler, grating coupler, MMI, polarization converter, and/or experience with active components, such as modulators and photodetectors; and Coherent Optics (ICT and ICR) is strongly desired;
- Experience with RF design, and high-speed measurement;
- Experience with test instrumentation and automation, hand's on in the lab
- Experience with optical subassembly processes, placement/alignment procedures and technology is a plus;
- Background in semiconductor device physics is a plus;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Good communication skills, self-motivation, and team player attributes.
